SMALL LAVA COPPER VASE
This one-of-one Lava Vase looks as if it were found on a volcano after it erupted..
Crafted from stoneware using traditional handbuilding techniques and then glazed in an otherworldly and iridescent combination of purple and blue hues, the vase has a crater-like tactility that is seductive to being touched.
Its interior is glazed with a clear finish to ensure the vase is water-tight for holding flowers. Though, this piece also equally can stand alone as a work of art.
Angeliki Stamatakou is a ceramic sculptor based in Athens, Greece. In her series of works, large clay sculptures serve as pure evocative artworks as well as functional pieces such as vases and candleholders, blurring the lines between utility and art.
The meticulous hand-building technique she employs emphasises a hands-on, artisanal aspect to making. This method ensures that each piece is unique and carries the mark of the artist's personal touch.
Themes of movement, mystery, freedom, and security infuse her exploration. The visual narrative mirrors a fantastical underwater civilisation, speaking to spirits deeply connected to the sea and nature.
Lorem ipsum, or lipsum as it is sometimes known, is dummy text used in laying out print, graphic or web designs. The passage is attributed to an unknown typesetter in the 15th century who is thought to have scrambled parts of Cicero’s De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum for use in a type specimen book.

Glazed ceramics may be able to withstand being put through the dishwasher, though to maintain their original state and ensure longevity, hand washing is recommended.
Ceramics with this kind of finish will readily absorb liquids, which can potentially lead to staining the piece. In the case that your Lava Vase needs cleaning, we recommend giving it a little bit of water under a running tap, then gently wiping dry with a clean, soft cloth.
Putting it in the dishwasher is not advised.
