Chris Gaynor is a cypriot-Australian painter based in Athens. His primary concern within his work lies within that practice of 'zographos' – the process of articulating the miracle of the cosmos and his existence within it. Through an uninhibited and ever expanding form of calligraphy, Gaynor’s aim is to “bypass the noetic experience by unselfconsciously coupling the raw material with physical incident.”
While brief choices are being made during the materialisation of his paintings, the works are not goal-oriented; they're unsystematic and reject over analysis. Gaynor’s initial gesture paves the way for the rest of the work, seeing what has been brought into existence and responding to it accordingly.
This work is sold including its black metal frame, as pictured.
Lorem ipsum, or lipsum as it is sometimes known, is dummy text used in laying out print, graphic or web designs. The passage is attributed to an unknown typesetter in the 15th century who is thought to have scrambled parts of Cicero’s De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum for use in a type specimen book.
