Elise Wouters dissolves the feminine into landscape in Reprise. A monochromatic body, mirrored across a triptych, echoes the contours of a distant Greek island seascape, shaped by time into a living representation of space remembered.
Created during the HOS artist residency at Mona, this fine art print carries her signature pairing of both form and transience in plays of light and shadow. Signed by the artist, it rests in the space between a map and a moment captured, a layered meditation on place and embodiment.
Elise Wouters is a Belgian photographer and writer based in between London and Athens. Her work examines the poetics of place, solitude, memory and self-representation. Through her darkroom handprinting, she explores the physicality of photography, resulting in unique pieces that carry traces of their journey.
