THE SOFT GREEN BACKGAMMON
Greece
34x23.5cm
Ceramic
A handcrafted ceramic backgammon set that blurs the line between game and collectible object.
Made in glazed stoneware, each board and playing piece is individually crafted by hand, making every set one of a kind. Designed to be played, displayed, and gathered around, it transforms a timeless pastime into a sculptural object. Whether in use or resting on a table, it adds an artistic presence to any interior.
15 checkers and 2 dice
Gammon Gammon is more than a series of handcrafted ceramic backgammon and chess sets. It is an invitation to gather. For French artist Jeanne Chardin, the game is only the beginning. Blurring the boundaries between art and design, the project reimagines play as an act of connection. Travelling between Paris and Athens, Gammon Gammon has grown into a community shaped by curiosity and chance encounters. Passed from hand to hand, each ceramic piece carries the traces of those who have gathered around it, transforming from object into experience.
Lorem ipsum, or lipsum as it is sometimes known, is dummy text used in laying out print, graphic or web designs. The passage is attributed to an unknown typesetter in the 15th century who is thought to have scrambled parts of Cicero’s De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum for use in a type specimen book.
