Rose Mihman navigates through time. From a very young age, she has created scenes in her bedroom using vintage clothes and found objects; nothing has changed. The French photographer constructs images like paintings inhabited by her reveries. Inspired by painting and drawing, she has developed an aesthetic with pictorialist undertones and explores early photographic techniques such as Autochrome, the first color photography process. She is drawn to people and objects marked by the passage of time: patinas, flushed cheeks, or drooping eyelids. She seeks to capture fleeting moments of absent-mindedness, where her subjects, free and sometimes blurred, seem to float. Her intimate, suspended images are capsules outside of time.

Lorem ipsum, or lipsum as it is sometimes known, is dummy text used in laying out print, graphic or web designs. The passage is attributed to an unknown typesetter in the 15th century who is thought to have scrambled parts of Cicero’s De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum for use in a type specimen book.
