Athenian ceramicist Angeliki Stamatakou shapes the Wave candleholder with intuition, celebrating material in the natural world. It doesn’t just decorate, it tells a story, breathes.
Rough-hewn and elemental, the Wave candleholder recalls littoral caves carved by wind and tide, rocky arches spanning sun-warmed beach. Its sandstone tones are flecked with barnacle-like accents. The Wave is like inviting the coastline to come home.
On a low table, console or mantlepiece, the candleholder emanates cave-like shadows and fractures of light, becoming a quiet geography within any room.
Angeliki Stamatakou is a ceramics artist based in Athens, Greece. Her work includes unique sculptural decor objects, vases and centrepieces.
She uses stoneware clay employing coiling, wheel throwing and sculpting techniques for her ceramics.
She owns the entirety of the creation process, from the conceptual stage and design to the pottery-making, sculpting, painting, glaze-making and firing.
Her main source of inspiration is nature, which she finds is full of treasures of various patterns, textures and shapes.

This ceramic candleholder is handmade and should be handled with care. To remove accumulated wax, use a soft cloth and gentle movement. Its rough unfinished surface will catch on fibrous materials. Dusting is sufficient to clean it.
