Lorem ipsum, or lipsum as it is sometimes known, is dummy text used in laying out print, graphic or web designs. The passage is attributed to an unknown typesetter in the 15th century who is thought to have scrambled parts of Cicero’s De Finibus Bonorum et Malorum for use in a type specimen book.

Beeswax candles are a natural product that can burn a bit differently than other types of (synthetic) candles, so require some different practices in their use. These tips help ensure a steady, consistent burn and will prolong the life of your candle.
HOLDER: Use a candle holder for these candles to protect your surfaces, ideally one that will catch any dripping wax and protect from heat damage to the surface under it. Ensure the candle holder is heat-resistant and non-flammable.
TRIM: Before each burn of your beeswax candle, trim the wick to about 6mm (just enough to remove the burnt mushroom top). This gives a clean, even burn and prevents excess smoke and soot. A trimmed wick also minimises the risk of the candle producing too large of a flame, which can cause dripping and uneven melting.
STRAIGHTEN: Always ensure the wick is upright before lighting and not pointed to the side. This helps the flame to burn straight up.
AVOID DRAFTS: When burning your beeswax candle make sure it is not in the line of drafts or air currents. Drafts can cause the flame to flicker and burn unevenly, leading to dripping and wasted wax.
EXTINGUISHING: To put out a beeswax candle, either use a snuffer or gently blow it out (very gently!). Avoid blowing too hard as the hot wax can splatter. We recommend using a snuffer as it preserves the wick and minimises smoke.
STORAGE: Beeswax candles should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep this in mind during extreme temperatures like the summer heat, as heat and sunlight can cause the candles to soften and change shape
