HANDPAINTED PLATE
Myrto Patramani approaches maiolica as both an historical reference and contemporary narrative space. This thin tin-glazed ceramic, lovingly handpainted, takes mythological significance and translates it into a muted yet expressive palette.
A single bud the colour of Scottish thistle or a rose seen through the bottom of a raised glass, this functionally decorative object invites use, arrangement and contemplation into the domestic landscape.
Myrto Patramani is Cretan visual artist based in Gothenburg, Sweden. She holds an Integrated Master’s degree from the Athens School of Fine Arts and is a current ceramics MFA student at HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design under the NEON Scholarship program.
In 2020, she received a residency and scholarship through the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and Siena Art Institute (SNF-SART) program, and has completed two Young Artists in Residency (YAIR) programs at Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center in Denmark.
Her sculptural works and installations, crafted in clay, metal and textiles, explore symbolic connections between objects, humans and nature, drawing inspiration from Greek mythology.

This glazed ceramic should be hand washed with lukewarm water and soft soap only. Do not place in dishwasher.
